Shropshire Draft Local Plan 2016-2038
- Shropshire Council has recently held a public consultation (Section 18 Consultation) on its preferred options and is now holding a further public consultation (Section 19 Consultation) on the Local Plan process to ensure it is robust
- When the Section 19 Consultation period is over, the Council will formalise its Draft Local Plan and forward it to the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
- The Secretary of State will then ask an Inspector to hold an Examination in Public (EiP) where the Draft Local Plan will be examined at a Public Inquiry with developers, stakeholders and the public contributing their arguments as to why sites should or should not be included in Shropshire Council’s Local Plan 2016-2038
- When the Inspector’s Report has been agreed by the Secretary of State, it will be forwarded to the Council for their consideration with the amended Plan either being accepted or challenged
- Assuming it is accepted, this Plan determines Shropshire’s future development through to 2038 with reviews being undertaken on a 5-yearly basis
